Here at Stand Firm Adventures, we design and facilitate adventure programs aimed at supporting the growth and development of youth, adults and families.

Mick Rae began Stand FIRM Adventures in 2016 out of his passion to see men standing strong in their role to mentor their sons & daughters, (or other young people in their care), towards a clear sense of identity & a hope-filled future. Over the past 8 years, Stand Firm Adventures have specialised in equipping families and individuals to move strongly through the teenage journey to adulthood, through rites of passage adventure programs. |
Mick is well qualified and experienced working in adventure activities under National Adventure Activity Standards with a vast number of adolescents and adults.
He has 25 years of experience in the field of Bush Adventure Therapy and Small Group Work. His work has typically combined elements of being in nature / on country; adventurous journeys; strengths-based approach, and reflective practices. Other members of the Stand Firm Adventures team are carefully selected for their skills and experience working in this field
Mick’s experience began in Tasmania, working with Project Hahn / The Wilderness Program from the late 1990's until 2013, with Fusion Australia from 2004-2013, and continued with The Northern Outlook in Cairns from 2014-2022. He now heads up Stand Firm Adventures full time.
Mick partners with his lovely wife, Ellen, in raising an energetic family of 5 children aged between 8 and 18.
