Stand FIRM is a 4 day Father* & Son Rites of Passage adventure designed to equip you and your son through that process.

You will join with a  small company of fathers and their sons in a comfortable camp environment in beautiful Far North Queensland. Whilst enjoying a range of adventure activities together, you will explore topics of manhood, identity and purpose. You and your son will be invited to consider and set a clear vision of the kind of men you'd like to develop into. 

​No particular experience in the activities is required as you will receive training, support, equipment and guiding from qualified and experienced staff.

Stand FIRM culminates in a return ceremony as fathers* and sons are welcomed back by family and friends at the end of their adventure together.

Who's it for? Fathers with sons who are already on their journey to manhood and want to mark this moment with a significant shared experience. They will be willing to take on some challenges, have some great fun together, and discuss significant topics in the fellowship of other like-minded men. 
Ideally it follows the Stand UP program, but is equally valuable for those engaging with Stand for the first time.

Ages (recommended) 15+

• to strengthen young men as they journey into manhood.
• to equip & support fathers to be active in their son's journey to manhood.

When is the next program? 2nd - 5th October 2025

Parents / Carers information & preparation session 4 weeks in advance. This is possible to be done via video link for people living out of the region.

• Information & preparation session (1.5hrs) - 4 weeks in advance. 
• ​Father & Son - 4 full days; Thursday - Sunday
• Family Ceremony - afternoon of the final day (Sunday) 

** Registrations must be secured 6 weeks prior **

What are the typical activities?

• father & son quality time in a beautiful bush setting
• camping; canoeing; high ropes or climbing; hiking; swimming
• reflective group discussions; campfire yarns; solo times
• All this, in the company of a small group of fathers and sons, who can become great encouragers to one another.

• Major city visit - $2500 (airfares, accommodation, entry to various sites/shows, food, add ons)
• Cairns adventure week - $1800 if local (daily local adventure; Food, Transport & add ons).
