Stand UP is a 3 night Father* and Son Rites of Passage adventure designed to assist the very critical beginning stage of this journey.

A small company of men and their sons will gather in a bush location in the vicinity of Cairns, Qld to explore issues of boyhood, manhood, identity and purpose.

There will be worthy challenges to overcome; laughter, tears and joy; friendship and deepening bonds between sons and fathers*. Together, you'll tackle adventure, challenges, hard work and real issues.
 
 Stand UP culminates in a 'return ceremony' as fathers* and sons are welcomed back by family and friends at the end of the program

Program aims:
  • to prepare boys to start their journey into manhood.
  • to equip & support fathers to plan and walk the journey to manhood with their sons.

Who's it for? Fathers* with sons that are ready to begin their journey from boyhood to manhood. Ideally identified as 'ready' by their fathers and/or other men in their lives.
Aged 13 or 14yrs.

When is the next program? 24th - 27th August, 2023 (Thurs 5pm – Sun 11:30am)
  • **Information & preparation session - Wed 19th July 6:30-8:00pm**
  • Short Mother & Son session: Thurs 24th August 3:30-5pm
  • Father & Son: Thurs 24th August 5:00pm - Sun 27th August 11:30am
  • Family Ceremony: Sun 27th August 10-11:30am

** Registrations must be secured 2 months prior **

What are the typical activities?
  • father & son quality time in a beautiful bush setting
  • camping; ropes based challenges; climbing; hiking; swimming
  • reflective group discussions; campfire yarns; solo times
  • All this, in the company of a small group of likeminded fathers and sons.

Value comparison for other 1 parent & 1 child adventure experiences of a similar length. Consider that none of these are designed and facilitated to intentionally equip the leading of your sons from childhood to adulthood in meaningful and relationship strengthening ways.
  • Theme park visit - $2900 (airfares, accommodation, entry, food, add ons)
  • Major city visit - $2600 (airfares, accommodation, entry to various sites/shows, food, add ons)
  • Cairns adventure week - $1500 if local (daily local adventure; Food, Transport & add ons).
